What I have learned!

Posted by: | June 17, 2009 | No Comment |

There are three things I have learned so far:

1) I have learned to use correct grammar when sending comments. If I use improper grammar I could send the wrong message to the reader.

2) Commenting on others blogs can create more friends, that you can interact with through the internet.

3)

  • What happened as a result of you disagreeing with the blogger? How did they respond? How did you respond?

I haven’t received a response from the blog yet but I’m hoping I will soon.

  • What do you usually do if you find a post with which you disagree? Do you comment publicly? Email the blogger? Or do you just move on?

It really depends on the creator of the blog. If it is made by a child I would usually leave it alone because I know that later in their life they will learn to use correct grammar and punctuation. For a teenager I would comment publicly because they know how to use proper grammar, and punctuation. All Iwould do is leave a little constructive criticism.

  • If you comment, typically how do you engage the blogger? Do you ask questions to better understand his/her position? Do you make statements to explain your position? Do you track comments so that you can return to continue the conversation?

I love to ask questions, it is a good conversation starter. When I ask questions 9/10 times I will get a response. I have to make statements because a comment wouldn’t be a comment without it! I also track my comments using google reader, it is safe and fun to use. It organizes my comments and posts using my URL or my RSS feed.

  • If you’re a blogger, how do you feel if people post comments where they disagree with you? How do you handle these?

I handle them with an open mind. Even if I disagree with the persons feedback I will still take it into consideration. I know that if these bloggers take their time out to make a comment, they want me o be a success!

Commenting Self-Audit

Posted by: | June 3, 2009 | No Comment |
  • How often do you comment on other blogs during a typical week? Honestly I haven’t had the chance to comment on any ones blog Yet. I have a reason though, my blog is still new and before I ask people to look at my blog I first want my blog to look GREAT!
  • Do you track your blog comments? How? What do you do with your tracking? I do track my comments that people make on my blog. I can do it through the dashboard, it shows me if and when i have a comment, and if i would like to approve or disapprove the comment.
  • Do you tend to comment at the same blogs or do you try to comment on at least one new blog per week? When I decide to start commenting I will try to find blogs similar to mine. I will do this because that persons blog will most likely have something interesting and new for me to play around with. On the other hand I could find a blog that has no similar features as mine. this could open me up to new and cool things.

    The Three R’s

Reduce Reuse, and Recycle. Everyone knows it, but only some people actually do it.

Reduce: to reduce we all have to do our part by buying more recyclable products and reducing how much garbage we send to the landfill.
Reuse: to reuse we need to use our products multiple times. Just think if we use that water bottle one more time we can have less garbage in the landfill.                                                                           Recycle: last but not least recycling is one little thing everyone can do to change our planets future. If your family doesn’t recycle get into the habit soon because you are killing our planet!

    Holocaust

    Posted by: | May 8, 2009 | No Comment |

On may 7, Eva came to our school.

Eva came to talk about the holocaust. She explained some of her child hood, the Nazis bullies and her life in the concentration camps. She told stories about her parents death, and how she never gave up. Eva also included a slide show of the concentration camps and the suffering the Jews, had endured. There were pictures of children so skinny that the bones bleed through their skin. She told of what she saw and what she heard, there were people in soiled pants, filled with diarrhea. She heard gun shots and felt the emotional pain of the Jews being murdered one by one. There were children being forced into gas chambers, that once had dreams and goals.

Through out the story Eva asked the audience if any of them use the word, “hate.” Mostly all of them put up their hands. She then immediately explained that hate is the Nazis bullies, hate represents extreme hostility towards someone or something. Nearing the end of her speech Eva reminded us, of the imortence of love and not hate, and to respect everyone even those who are not respectful.

We even got to get a picture taken with Eva!
